Elizabeth Harjunpää, who was representing the group of volunteers of the Ukrainian Association in Finland, has received Helsinki Medal for her and her team’s contribution to helping temporary displaced people from Ukraine.
12.06, on Helsinki Day, Helsingin kaupunki – Helsingfors stad – City of Helsinki awarded 10 outstanding citizens in science, arts, culture, and sports with Golden Helsinki Medals. Elizabeth Harjunpää, a member of the Ukrainian Association in Finland, has received one of them.
Elizabeth and the team of volunteers were commended to the establishment and management of the Help Centre for Ukrainians in Vallila.
Mayor Juhana Vartiainen and Deputy Mayors Anni Sinnemäki, Nasima Razmyar and Paavo Arhinmäki presented the awards at a festive ceremony at Helsinki City Hall.
