In 2022, the Ukrainian Association in Finland collected approx 1 million euros in donations. Donated funds were used for humanitarian aid for those suffering from the russian war of agression in Ukraine.

That year our humanitarian work was based solely on voluntary work, so the funds raised in 2022 have not been used for administrative costs.

Humanitarian aid to Ukraine

Our association has delivered dozens of truck loads of humanitarian aid to different parts of Ukraine. Donation funds have been used e.g. for logistical costs, for the purchase of evacuation vehicles, generators, tactical first aid equipment and water pumps and cleaners. With the help of donations, we have fixed the lighting in the operating room of the Odessa hospital and acquired surgical equipment.

The Association also focuses on integrating Ukrainian refugees into Finnish society in Uusimaa region and across Finland. Part of donated funds were utilized to provide essential items and facilitate employment-related initiatives. Additionally, peer support programs were organized for refugee children, prioritizing their well-being.

service, which enables a centralized and organized way to collect material donations. It is free for all donors and organizations.

The donation process consists of five simple steps that end with printing a package card and delivering the packages to a service point. From the service point, the package is transported to the logistics center by a network of partners, such as Posti and Matkahuolto. The Goods List displayed on the website is updated daily based on information received from the crisis area. There are more than 730 service points nationwide. The service is implemented by the Association of Ukrainians in Finland.

Since 2014, the association has organized humanitarian aid through its volunteer network directly to those in need in Ukraine.
