It was a big honor for us to be invited to the Independence Day Reception hosted by the President of Finland Sauli Niinistö and Mrs Jenni Haukio at the Presidential Palace on 6 December. The Ukrainian Association in Finland was presented by Vassili Goutsoul, chair of the Association’s board.
We consider it as an acknowledgment of our persistent work in the field of Ukrainian-Finnish relationships, as well as a gesture of solidarity with Ukraine at the highest level. Our aim is to support a strong Ukrainian community, the members of which, while preserving their cultural identity, are fully integrated into the Finnish society and engaged in their communities.
The Ukrainian Association in Finland was founded in Helsinki in 1997 to unite and represent the community of Ukrainians residing in Finland and to raise awareness about Ukraine and its cultural traditions.
