Oleksandr Mykhed presents his book Language of War. Chronicles of the Invasion, Sat. 28.10.2023, 13.00, Oodi

Oleksandr Mykhed is a guest of the first Ukrainian program at the Helsinki Book Fair 2023 (Helsingin kirjamessut). Together with the Finnish writer Sofi Oksanen, he will participate in the discussion “Ukrainian sisu” on the central Senaatintori stage of the fair on 27 October at 19:00.

The author will present his new book “Language of War. Chronicles of the Invasion” (2023) at Oodi on 28 October.

The book published by “The Old Lion Publishing House” is currently among the bestsellers on the Ukrainian market. Mykhed started working on the book on the first day of the full-scale invasion that happened in the eighth year of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Writing lasted for thirteen
months. The book is based on the experience of the author and his wife, his parents who were in occupied Bucha for almost three weeks, and the experiences of many Ukrainians.

“Language of War” will be available for purchase during the presentation.

Oleksandr Mykhed is the author of 9 books, a member of the Ukrainian PEN, a participant in literary residencies in Finland, Latvia, Iceland, the USA and France. His articles are published in “The Guardian”, “Financial Times”, etc.

Moderator of the event is Nataliya Teramae, journalist, coordinator of cultural projects of the Ukrainian Association in Finland.
