A warm welcome to an evening of reflection and dialogue about the role of Ukrainian culture in our lives.

The Ukraine Talks seminar will bring together the voices of the Ukrainian community in Finland and their Finnish colleagues to explore important questions together:

– Why does Ukrainian culture matter?
– How can we contribute to its development?
– What new pathways can it open between Ukraine and Finland?

Kateryna Harahulia — visual artist, head of the Ad Astra for Ukrainians initiative (UA)
Mariia Zhyhurt — lecturer in Ukrainian culture and language, Tampereen seudun työväenopisto (UA)
Mikko-Pekka Hanski — founder of the Solovey project, director at Miltton

After the individual talks, there will be a panel discussion with opportunities for questions and audience participation.

Organized by Reflektor ry and the Ukrainian Society in Finland (UYS). With support from the Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland (OKM) as part of the Bulletproof Images and Ukraine Season projects.

After the seminar, we invite you to continue the evening at the Reflektor Teurastamo Festival, featuring light, video, and visual art by Finnish and international artists, as well as the interactive art project “Ukraine Maps.”
