Yesterday, on November 20, 2024, Helsinki witnessed a truly remarkable event: the Ukrainian youth choir Shchedryk, Kyiv Children’s Choir performed a concert that left the audience deeply moved.
53 young singers had traveled all the way from Ukraine to Finland earlier this week. Despite the challenges of such a long journey, their performance was nothing short of extraordinary—they sang with their hearts and souls, captivating everyone in attendance. The choir conductor, Marianna Sablina, led the choir to perfection.
Supporting Ukraine’s young generation and preserving Ukrainian culture, both of which face significant threats today, is at the core of our mission. Through initiatives like this, we strive to highlight the resilience, talent, and beauty of Ukrainian artistry.
The Ukrainian Association in FInland extends our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended the Shchedryk concert yesterday. We are also deeply thankful to our generous donors: Alfred Kordelinin säätiö , the Parviainen family, and Ministry of Education and Culture of Finland, whose support made this event possible. Thanks to our speaker of the night, member of the Finnish Parliament, Co-chairman of the Ukraine Friendship Group, Aleksi Jäntti, Tetiana Kalita, The Cultural Diplomacy International Institute, and the whole Shchedryk choir team, for making this commitment and for making this event possible.
We warmly encourage everyone to join upcoming events, where you’ll not only discover the richness of Ukrainian culture but also contribute to supporting its artists and future.
